The Arts Council will provide leadership and support for developing the
arts in our community, promoting quality, diversity and economic growth.

The goal of the Liberty County Arts Council is to serve the citizens of
Liberty County by promoting the arts and culture in Liberty County.

The Liberty County Arts Council was established by the
Board of County Commissioners on February 9, 2003.

The Liberty County Arts Council will:
I. Respond to the artistic needs of the Community.
II. Sponsor cultural events each year which represent the
major art disciplines, i.e., music, dance, drama, visual arts.
III. Creat economic opportunities to support on-going cultural programs and projects.
IV. Support the development of a museum of local history and artifacts.

The purposes of the Arts Council include but are not limited to:
I. Stimulating greater governmental and public awareness and appreciation
of the importance of the arts to the people of Liberty County.
II. Encouraging and facilitating greater efficient use of governmental and private
resources for the development and support of the arts.
III. Encouraging and facilitating opportunities for Liberty County
residents to participage in artistic activities.
IV. Promoting the development of Florida artists, arts institutions, community
organizations, sponsoring arts activities and audiences.

The Liberty County Arts Council has served the children and families of Liberty County since 2003 by
providing a variety of artistic disciplines.  Accomplishments include Blue Grass Spring Fling Festival,
local music and drama presentations, professional touring groups, annual “Art Alive” Show and Sale
and the annual performance of the renowned Ballet, “The Nutcracker,” featuring students of
The Bristol Ballet School and professional dancers from Northwest Florida Ballet and Dance Alive.
In 2010, the Arts Council produced its first Broadway Junior production,  “The Music Man Junior,”
through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. 

Events are also sponsored in part by Liberty County Board of Commissioners,
Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs,The Florida Arts Council
and the National Endowment for the Arts.
